This year the California State Fair is getting
ready for “fun that moves you” from July 12-29. Here are some things you won’t
want to miss out on at this year’s state fair.
Discount days
Tuesday is Kids Day at the fair with FREE park entry and $1
rides. On Wednesday all admission is discounted and unlimited rides can be
purchased for $16. Seniors get a discount on Fridays until 8pm.
Concerts
This year’s concert artists include Cody Simpson (7/18) Rick
Springfield (7/19) Scotty McCreery (7/21) and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (7/27)
to name a few.
Brewfest
That’s right—beer fans July 28 is your day to taste the best
brews and get a souvenir mug at the “Friends of the Fair” Brewfest.
Monster Truck Rides
Here’s your chance to ride on of the tallest trucks you’ve
ever seen. Rides are available from 11am-10pm on July 12 in the extreme zone.
Sacramento Mile Motorcycle
Racing
Watch as professional motorcycle racers compete against 2-6
competitors at 130 mph speeds in the AMA
Pro Racing Grand National Championship series.
Deep Fried Food
Who
can resist the deep fry? This year’s deep fried experiments include, artichoke
hearts, cheeseburger, green beans, mac ‘n’ cheese on a stick, cream cheese
topped with sweet-hot sauce, cheese curds, grilled cheese, deep fried poptarts,
cinnamon rolls with icing and deep-fried red velvet cake with frosting, … not
to mention the chocolate-covered bacon!
And
don’t miss the horse racing and fireworks!
