Sacramento Movers Share How To Move A Shed

If you’re making some changes in the back yard and need to move a shed across the lawn, follow a few simple steps:

  • Reinforce the windows and door of the shed prior to relocating it.
  • Decide the place you wish to position the shed before beginning to maneuver it. Select a spot where the terrain is level, dry, clear, and not likely to flood or become muddy when it rains.
  • Build a basic foundation for the shed if it needs one.
  • If you're moving the shed from one section of the backyard to another, clean up a path from its present position to its desired destination.
  • Empty the shed to make it as light-weight as possible.
  • To move the shed across the lawn, elevate it a few inches off the ground using a jack in each corner.
  • Create a track for the shed to roll on by lying down a lengthy wooden plank under each side of the shed, a few feet in from its edges. Lay enough track to cover the whole distance, or lay two lengths of wood end-to-end and plan to move the rear panels towards the front as needed.
  •  Slide lengths of 4-inch PVC tube underneath the front, center and backside of the shed, perpendicular to the track, with about three feet of pipe extending past the shed on each side.
  •  Lower the shed onto the pipes and recruit pals to help you push it along the track. When it rolls clear of the back tube, place that tube under the front. If you laid down couple of lengths of wood for a track, move the rear lengths to the front each time the shed progresses clear of them. Push gradually and take care not to trip over the sides of the tube rollers. Carry on in this way until you reach your destination.

If you need to move a shed a longer distance, use a licensed, registered trailer to transport your shed. Check your local towing laws for information on the additional trailer lights necessary as well as other regulations to ensure that you can legally tow your shed yourself. When you have set up the trailer according to local regulations, if the shed is light enough for you and a few friends to lift, elevate it to the height of the trailer bed on jacks and then lift or push it onto the bed. Fasten it to the trailer with sturdy rope or chain and tow the trailer slowly to its destination. If the shed is too heavy for you to lift or too wide for you to tow, hire professionals to winch it onto a specially designed shed trailer and tow it for you.

Sacramento Movers Share Ideas For Notifying Contacts Of A New Address

What is the best way to update friends and family of your new mailing address? There are a few good options for doing so. There is email which can be quick, easy, and cost-free, but the downside of this is that people tend to change their email pretty frequently and you may have quite a few outdated emails in your contact book or perhaps you don’t even have email addresses for your contacts. Also emails often lack the personal touch of a postmarked announcement. Yet hand crafting and postmarking dozens of change of address announcements to family and friends can take a long time. Here’s an alternative… use an online announcement creator to make custom announcements in just a few clicks of a mouse.

There are many great announcement creation websites you can use to customize your moving announcement. There are a few we will highlight and summarize her.

Tiny Prints is an excellent site for creating customized announcements and they have a large variety of cute, creative, and crafty moving announcements. You can select a style you like, add text, designate a quantity then get high quality, personalized announcements delivered to your door. You can also order address labels in a matching style that eliminates the need for you to address each envelope by hand.

A great way to personalize the address change notice is to print out a family photo taken in front of the new home and include it in your announcement. Snap Fish allows you to create a custom announcement including a family photo.

For the most care-free option of all, try Card Store, a site that allows you to customize your card and rather than having them delivered to your door you can opt to have them sent directly to each person on your address list. This is just as easy as sending a bulk email but is ten times more personal and creative.

Choosing a Storage Facility

Whether you are just storing a couple of items or an entire household, it’s important to give some thought into selecting a good storage facility. Besides just deciding on unit size and price, there are three other key factors to consider.

1. Cleanliness.
You can get a feel for the cleanliness by stepping into the front office. The cleanliness and condition of the office will give you a clue into how the entire property is kept. Notice, does it smell like cigarettes? Is there a leak in the roof? Are there ants crawling around? These are all big red flags and can give you an idea into some of the problems you might run into down the road with your items smelling of smoke, suffering water damage or bug infestation. The office should be dusted, have a clean floor and the manager should be neatly dressed and maintained. Cleanliness in the office will clue you into how the facility on the whole is maintained.

2. Security.
It’s important to make sure the facility you choose will be a safe storage solution for your belongings.  Is the storage facility gated and secured by gate code? Is the facility monitored with security cameras? Is there good lighting at night? Is there an on-site manager present? Do storages require driver’s license and current address from customers before allowing them to use a storage unit? It’s important that these facilities screen prospective tenants to ensure people with ill-intentions are not gaining access to the secure facility.

3. Customer service.
A friendly, organized, and attentive staff is important in a storage facility.  The last thing you’d want is to move into a unit where it takes a week to get in touch with the manager. During regular business hours there should always be a manager available in the office. After hours there should be a phone number to contact a staff person in case there are any issues gaining access to your unit. The manager should be able to give straight answers and maintain an efficient, organized office. The manager should be happy to interact with customers and solve problems.

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY: Giving back to the community has been a part of the TMT mission since its first year in operation.
·         The moving company started in the early 1980s as a way for two brothers, Brig Sorber and Jon Sorber, to earn extra money in high school. Their mother, Founder Mary Ellen Sheets, took over the business when they left for college. Sheets donated the first $1,000 profit by distributing it between 10 different charities. This commitment to giving is shared by franchises across the country. We believe in supporting our communities. Locations donate thousands of hours and money to non-profit organizations such as WEAVE, Make-A-WishAlzheimer’s Association, and Sacramento/Elk Grove Food Bank.  In addition, a portion of every move completed by the system is annually donated to the American Cancer SocietyTWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is proud to be a community and industry leader. We work hard to exceed customer’s expectations. Providing the best possible service is the cornerstone of our business. Want to get TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® to support your charity? ·         TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® was built on strong core values including being a role model in the moving and franchising industries and treating everyone with care and respect. We understand the importance of diversity and inclusion for both the workplace -- and when we work with customers. That’s why we have created our Emerging Markets Department. This department will work to educate our franchise system about the importance of accepting and embracing all people. To gain further insight and guidance on understanding inclusion, we have joined several multicultural chambers of commerce from around the country.
